DescriptionAllan and Nell Unsworth bought 68 acres of farmland on Omokoroa Point in 1953. In the mid 1950s as a result of slips on the cliffs, on the seaside of Omokoroa Road a new section of road was cut through their farmland. This new road gave access to more of the farm enabling them to get permission to subdivide parts of the farm into residential sections. Over the next 25 years the whole farm was subdivided.
These photos have been donated to Western Bay Community Archives by Helen Unsworth, daughter of Allan, who developed the subdivision.
The 1956 photos were taken by Alf Rendell, a well known Tauranga aerial photographer and then hand coloured by Mrs M. West.
There is also a "flyer" advertising the fifth and sixth subdivisions in 1971 Collection dates 1956-1971Surname SearchUNSWORTH
