The Arts Junction

DescriptionWhen the library moved to its location on Talisman Drive, the old library building was repurposed into The Arts Junction. All the book shelves were removed and a theatre and cinema space was created. The hallway which used to connect the books with the reception and information centre has been redesigned and is now the Carlton Gallery, and the old reception area is the information centre with a retail zone where the old information centre used to be. The parking warden's old office is now the Open Air Art office, and Katch Katikati have offices where the Archives Room once was. It has become the arts hub for Katikati, with regular showings of movies in the cinema, which doubles as the Katikati Theatre group's performance space. The Carlton Gallery has regular exhibitions of pieces by local creatives which are offered for sale and the volunteers in the information centre are available to provide service for visitors and locals alike.
