DescriptionThe Watson Brothers built this house in the Pongakawa Valley about 1912. It was mistakenly built on the neighbour's land! The Pongakawa Stream ran behind the house.
In 1917 the Watson Brothers formed a partnership with Albert Nelson Gibbons who was the father of Nancy, Frank, Spencer, Lindsay and Diana.
Albert Gibbon's wife was Caroline Emily Watson, after whom the Cary Gibbons Reserve was named.
