NameMax AveryBiographical notesMax is a journalist and writer. He started work for the Bay of Plenty Times in Tauranga and The Mount News in Mt. Maunganui. He is also a script-writer and documentary director and it was during this time that his interest in boats and shipping was sparked when he produced a sequence on a crossing of the Cook Strait by the scow the Echo. He started making notes about boats in 2007 and the result is this book, after years of meticulous research and first hand accounts of sailing and travelling in the vessels mentioned in this book.
