Life dates1865-1956BiographyWilliam Andrews was the head of one of the original 28 families who came to Katikati as part of George Vesey Stewart's special settlement on the Carisbrooke Castle in 1875. He settled on lot 31, near Thompson's Track. He built a house with a great view of Katikati and called it "Uplands". William was on the original committee which formed the first Presbyterian congregation in Katikati. Upland Road is named after the Andrews homestead and land although it is thought that the homestead burnt down in 1935. Last edited by: Sandra Haigh
