Life dates1934-BiographyMolly is a very well known and loved member of the Katikati community. She and her husband arrived in 1963 to run a market garden and never left.
She grew up in Rotorua alongside her famous cousin, Sir Howard Morrison and they always kept in touch with mutual visits back and forth between Katikati and Rotorua.
She was involved in the establishment of the local Kohanga Reo in the early 1980s and assisted in the in Katikati Primary School's bilingual unit. She was a kuia at Te Rereatukahia Marae, worked with the marae's Tribal Committee and was a tutor in Maori language and protocol.
Her association with the Anglican Church combined with her nursing qualification and experience took her to Uganda in 1991 to work with underprivileged children for a year.
She was also involved with scouting and guiding, the Katikati Playground Committee, Maori Women's Welfare League and a host of other community projects and groups.
All this work earned Molly a QSM in 1998.
