DescriptionThis church represents the Assemblies of God in Katikati, which laid its very first foundations in Katikati in 1976. It was Waihi local Gordon Harkins who shared his faith with a group of young men who worked in the Waihi dairy factory. These men began attending the Waihi Assemblies of God Church. In 1977, a small group began meeting at the Katikati Memorial Hall Lounge, with the Waihi pastor, Laurie Henessey, visiting when he could. This group became an official Assemblies of God Church in 1978 and in 1979 the Church had its first full time pastor, Herman Stensmaa. The Church finally made its home next to the Katikati RSA and Citizens Club in the old Fruit Fed building in 1988. WebsiteKatikati Christian Centre
