DescriptionLodge No.295 at Katikati started in 1927 with a group of 13 men who met at the Katikati tearooms. Brother W. B. Cornell was elected first Master, and George Alley offered up not only the land, but also the sum of £1,100 to be put towards the construction of a Lodge. The foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted on June 28th, 1929.
Lodge Meetings were halted during WW2, but were reinstated in 1947. The Katikati Lodge today is still very active in the community, and boasts several members at Grand Lodge rank.
The Archive Room at Katikati has a considerable amount of information on the Lodge's activities in the community. To access this you can visit us or email us using the contact facility on this web site. Make sure you quote Folder #1966 in your correspondence. WebsiteFree Masons
